07 Feb MLA for a Day
Are you a high school student with an interest in politics? Consider applying for Mr. Speaker’s MLA for a Day.
Take place in a free three-day youth conference, running from May 6 -8 at the Alberta Legislature.
The goal of MLA for a Day is for politically engaged students from across the province to connect with one another as well as their representatives. High school students are given the opportunity to experience the dynamic environment of the Legislative Assembly while developing a greater understanding and awareness of the role and responsibilities of an MLA. A number of activities offer direct contact between participants, MLAs and other related officials. MLA for a Day is open to all Alberta high school students (Grades 10 through 12), and one participant will be selected from each of Alberta’s 87 constituencies.
All interested students must complete an application form expressing their interest in attending by March 23, 2018. Applications must be submitted directly to the Visitor Services office.
Additional program information and the application form can be found on the Assembly website.
